Child abduction is often carried out by a family member, generally a parent, who believes they have the right to do so without a court order allowing them to move with the child to another country.
Child abduction occurs when a child is taken to another country without the express permission of the other parent (or the permission of those who have custody rights). It also occurs when a child is kept abroad beyond the specified period for which permission may have been given for them to travel with the other parent (such as on holiday or to visit relatives abroad).
If you suspect child abduction is a possibility, or if it has already occurred, time is of the essence and urgent legal advice is vital.
We have experience in this area of law and we act for parents whose child or children have been taken as well as for those who become a respondent party to a child abduction proceeding.
Whatever your circumstances, we act in a timely and proactive way.
