Costs may be discounted to a fixed fee for a range of matters where matters require a limited amount of correspondence or court appearances (if applicable), such as:
We are able to negotiate fixed fees for matters such as the above, depending upon the number of hours necessary to complete it.
The benefits of a fixed fee are that you pay a flat rate for the services you receive, and it also allows you to easily compare prices between individual law firms, as well as having control over what you spend.
We are also able to arrange a payment plan for certain types of matters such as family law property disputes.
Please feel free to contact one of our team at the Summit Law Group for more information about our payment plans and fixed fees. If your matter does not fall within the scope of a fixed fee, then the complexity of your case will determine how much the cost will be, We recommend that you take advantage of our free consultation at which time we can discuss these matters further with you and give you a realistic overview of the fees involved.
Whenever you engage a law firm, we are required to provide you with a costs agreement which will set out your rights, how we structure costs and an estimate of your fees for the work that you instruct us to complete; or it will include your fixed price fee (if applicable to your matter).
A costs agreement is not required if the cost of the work we undertake for you will be less than $750 before disbursements and GST in New South Wales, or less than $1,500 without disbursements and GST in Queensland.
